About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all shipping, receiving, and logistics operations within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accurate and timely preparation, documentation, and movement of customer shipments while supporting weekly production and delivery plans. The manager leads a multi-shift team, supervises daily operations, and works closely with quality, purchasing, operations, and customer service to resolve discrepancies, address shipment issues, and maintain strong customer satisfaction. This position also manages carrier coordination, international and domestic shipping documentation (including customs), inventory of shipping supplies, and return-to-vendor processes. The Shipping & Receiving Manager is accountable for ensuring compliance, maintaining equipment, scheduling labor, and driving efficient communication across departments to support uninterrupted production and on-time delivery performance.

  • 2+ years supervisory or management experience
  • 3+ years in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations

Responsibilities

  • Schedule/coordinate customer shipments and trucking needs.
  • Work with management and quality to determine what is required for weekly shipment plans.
  • Problem solving any shipment errors
  • Coordinate shipping and trucking companies and prepare shipment paperwork, including Customs documentation for all PCC customers
  • Prepare final outgoing shipments including weighing, quantity, verification, banding, Affix shipping labels, complete commercial documents, and loading on to common carrier trucks
  • Track and provide PODs to customers/vendors
  • Proactively communicates issues, shortages, or problems to Operations Manager, indirect purchasing, and/or Customer Services Representatives
  • Track inventory on shipping containers and supplies
  • Supervise all personnel and operations on all three shifts.
  • Maintain equipment and make sure it is in good operating condition.
  • Schedule overtime (i.e. weekends, vacations, and sickness).
  • Review all salaried personnel on anniversary date, review goals with all personnel.
  • Return to vendor for replacement all incorrect and over-shipments of material.
  • Work with dock on correcting paperwork when wrong material is received or item count is incorrect.
  • Interaction with Purchasing Department is necessary when ordering or expediting open or past-due orders.
  • Interaction with Shipping/Receiving Department in order to correct receivers, bring material from warehouse, or send supplies to Crooksville Plant.
  • All additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
