This position involves verifying and maintaining records for incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as preparing items for shipment, including addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material. The role also requires receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material. A key component of the job is transporting and delivering finished products to customers, which involves applying knowledge of driving regulations and local roads, and performing daily inspections of the truck. Essential duties include packing, sealing, and labeling prepared materials for shipping using PB crimp tools and stretch wrap banders. The laborer will operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to appropriate departments or areas, and unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages. Operating company-owned trucks for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of products and materials is also required. The individual must maintain all certifications mandated by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs, follow all safety procedures, and load/unload trucks at customer sites as needed. Non-essential duties include maintaining an adequate supply of shipping materials, supporting the shipment of produced goods and the receipt of supplies for production/storage, reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area while adhering to prescribed safety regulations.
