About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving/Inventory (S/R/I) Specialist is responsible for the overall organization, receiving, and distribution of raw, finished, and serviced products according to company policies, guidelines, and practices. This role involves managing material transactions via an MRP system, ensuring proper packaging and labeling, verifying shipments against purchase orders, and maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Successfully complete training and certification in forklift operation.
  • Speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Able to sit and/or stand for at least two (2) hours at a time; sit, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, and climb.
  • Able to climb stairs.
  • Able to use both arms and hands to use a computer and peripherals.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds from floor level to overhead locations.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and team building skills.
  • Demonstrates basic math skills.
  • Demonstrates basic computer operation skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, confirm own workmanship, and meet deadlines as required.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior warehousing, inventory, receiving, and/or shipping experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of shipping best practices.
  • Knowledge of proper and safe lifting of boxes and storing of products.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects, stores, packages, and transports products (including material transactions via MRP system) according to company policies, procedures, work instructions, and verbal instruction from the supervisor to meet all daily shipping requirements.
  • Ensures proper packaging and labeling of shipments to customers/vendors for safe and efficient delivery (i.e., wrapping individual pieces, boxing, and palletizing).
  • Receives, inspects, accepts, unpacks, and verifies material against Purchase Orders.
  • Verifies incoming/outgoing shipment accuracy vs. Purchase/Sales Orders and resolves discrepancies that are identified.
  • Ensures the receipt and issuance of material is accurately completed on a timely basis to meet internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Completes all material transactions (issuance and receipt) via MRP system as required.
  • Prepares documents for shipping and receiving as appropriate.
  • Documents and notifies shipper and shipping carrier of any damages during shipping/receiving as well as internal company stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills while working with co-workers, guests, vendors, and customers.
  • Demonstrates forward thinking by identifying problems, suggesting solutions, and executing solutions.
  • Pulls and delivers requested materials to internal and external suppliers / customers.
  • Identifies and works with management to resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Performs cycle counts of raw materials, finished goods, and Work in Process (WIP) to ensure inventory accuracy, as necessary.
  • Unloads and loads delivery vehicles using forklifts and pallet jacks as well as moves materials in storage areas, as necessary.
  • Organizes material storage space as needed to accommodate all materials and products.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and organized work environment.
  • Performs other tasks assigned.
