About The Position

VIA Visually Impaired Advancement is seeking a full time Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to work 37.5 hours per week. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution activities, supporting efficient warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with Agency quality, safety, and performance standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse and shipping experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior forklift certification/experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable accounting and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to follow strict procedures and recommend changes.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as team lead.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information and respond effectively to management.
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff and assure accuracy, accountability, and best practices.
  • Commitment to providing excellent internal customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse population.
  • Attention to detail a must.

Responsibilities

  • Secure quotes and coordinate LTL and FTL freight shipments.
  • Shipping on all shipping platforms.
  • Ensure daily receiving, storage, and distribution procedures are followed accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform physical inventory processes, including cycle counts and full inventory counts.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound inventory, stock rotation (FIFO), and overall warehouse organization, safety and cleanliness.
  • Monitor and inventory levels, delivery timelines, and transportation costs.
  • Follow best practices for key processes across all phases of the supply chain to ensure warehouse and shipping efficiency and compliance.
  • Identify inventory shrinkage or overstock issues and assist with corrective action implementation.
  • Stay current with customer requirements and service expectations.
  • Oversee material handling equipment, including daily safety inspections, coordinate compliance training, and maintenance of equipment and storage racking.
  • Serve as support and backup to the shipping clerk and material handling positions.
  • Assist in the product returns process.
  • Coordinate and communicate with management, supervisors, and finance to understand priorities and fulfill customer needs.
