About The Position

Our facility is looking for a Shipping / Receiving Technician who can keep materials moving accurately and efficiently while providing professional service to the people who interact with our Shipping Department. This isn't just a forklift job. The position combines shipping and receiving, computer work, paperwork, organization, material handling, and customer service. You'll receive incoming materials, prepare outgoing shipments, maintain accurate records, operate a forklift, and use shipping and inventory systems. You'll also interact with drivers, vendors, customers, and others who come into the department. Because Shipping/Receiving is often one of the first places visitors interact with our Company, we're looking for someone who is organized, accurate, dependable, and professional with people.

Requirements

  • Previous Shipping/Receiving, inventory, warehouse, or related experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
  • Ability to accurately compare physical parts and quantities to paperwork and computer records.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing demands.
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies and investigate them before proceeding.
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to interact courteously with drivers, vendors, customers, and visitors.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to consistently work the assigned schedule.
  • Willingness to help wherever needed to keep the department and production moving.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, grasp, and handle parts and materials.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to load, unload, move, and organize materials as required by the position.
  • Ability to move between computer/paperwork tasks and physical Shipping/Receiving duties throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in an active production and Shipping/Receiving environment.
  • All employees must adhere to strict security policies including restrictions on personal electronic devices, access control, and documentation procedures.
  • The Lindgren Group must comply with CMMC 2.0 and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with shipping, inventory, ERP/MRP, carrier, or similar systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials and prepare outgoing shipments.
  • Verify parts, quantities, and paperwork before materials are received or shipped.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for obvious damage or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Enter and retrieve information using shipping, inventory, and other computer systems.
  • Use carrier software and other shipping programs as required.
  • Operate a forklift to safely load, unload, and move materials.
  • Organize incoming and outgoing materials so parts can be easily identified and located.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to keep materials moving.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies before shipments leave the facility.
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, vendors, customers, and visitors.
  • Prioritize multiple shipments, deliveries, and production requests throughout the day.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Shipping/Receiving area.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and shipping procedures.
