About The Position

The Shipping-Receiving Clerk will provide logistical support for the Shipping and Receiving management process. This position will be focused specifically on the Shipping side of this process. This is an on-site hourly position. Additional work hours will be assigned during peak times and year-end. RectorSeal manufactures and/or distributes a variety of mechanical products for the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing industries. For over 80 years, RectorSeal’s customers have depended on us for quality products with excellent value, shipped to them in a timely manner. This passion for excellent customer service is the reason RectorSeal has been growing at a very fast pace, and now requires additional shift capacity to meet customer demand.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent or 1 year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment in lieu of education.
  • Basic computer skills to function in job role.
  • Basic math skills to function in the role including add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Able to work 8 -12-hour shifts standing.
  • Available to work any shift and/or overtime as needed.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to operate and maintain equipment in alignment with safety standards.
  • Able to read Material Safety Data Sheets as well as raw material and finished goods container labels.
  • High-quality standards and degree of accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Solid work history that demonstrates reliability and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Able to understand, take ownership, and ensure the follow-through of directives as planned.
  • Adaptable and easily adjusts to changing work conditions and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Able to operate a forklift, reach truck, and scissor lift.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in the operation of a forklift truck.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Prior experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems.
  • Experience handling the movement and storage of hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company-established rules and policies; adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, process documentation, and regulations.
  • Work, safely, quickly, and efficiently to handle stock in various functions throughout the building.
  • Assist in daily shipping operations.
  • Process, pack, and ship orders accurately.
  • Inspect product for any damage, and file reports as needed.
  • Assist with parcel shipping or other shipping functions when time permits.
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working space.
  • Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized.
  • Engage in problem solving and support continuous improvement.
  • Keep a spirit of learning and a desire to grow as a team member.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Work overtime as business needs require.
  • Complete DOT required training annually.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
