About The Position

MSM Industries, LLC is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing business that serves as a trusted partner to the U.S. Navy and its prime contractors. They specialize in advanced material solutions for signature reduction, vibration and acoustic management, and environmental control, as well as high-performance system integration and assembly. MSM is part of Canopy Aerospace & Defense, a platform focused on advanced materials for space, defense, and maritime systems. The company is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support daily warehouse and logistics operations. This role is responsible for the accurate handling, inspection, documentation, and movement of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring timely, compliant, and organized shipment processing within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience with shipping systems (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar)
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or inventory systems
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds independently and participating in team lifts for heavier items, in compliance with all applicable safety guidelines.
  • Forklift experience or certification (or ability to obtain certification)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality standards
  • Hazmat shipping experience or certification (IATA/DOT)
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle counting processes
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments in accordance with company and customer requirements
  • Generate shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, labels, etc.)
  • Coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight providers) for pickups and deliveries
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or warehouse systems
  • Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of materials, including sensitive or regulated items
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams including production, procurement, and quality
