About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing domestic and international shipments according to requirements and specifications, as well as receiving incoming materials and verifying them against receiving papers. The position involves operating material handling equipment, assembling and checking orders, packing and crating, and attaching shipping instructions. A key part of the role is administering outgoing and incoming shipping transactions using the Guardian system.

Requirements

Intermittent walking, standing, bending, sitting, and lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.
Physical and mental ability to perform necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
Basic math skills – counting, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division.
Clear and legible handwriting.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to learn internal computer systems for tracking shipments.
At least six months shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Fork truck training and license required.
Valid driver’s license (for occasional local delivery and pick up of parts and other supplies).

Responsibilities

Prepare domestic and international shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications.
Receive incoming materials and check received goods against receiving papers.
Load and unload trucks with various material handling equipment.
Route or deliver materials to storage, manufacturing locations or appropriate department.
Assemble and check orders, do packing and crating, attach shipping instructions.
Receive all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods.
Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving papers.
Check quantity, type, size, part numbers, dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials.
Administer outgoing and incoming shipping transactions using the Guardian system, as directed by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
