About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately managing both incoming and outgoing shipments to maintain efficient warehouse operations. This role ensures timely receipt and verification of products, organizes inventory, prepares shipments, and coordinates with carriers. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are correctly received and shipped.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, and moving throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic math skills for order verification and inventory management.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional logistics or warehouse certifications are a plus.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
  • Check for damages, discrepancies, or missing items and report findings.
  • Properly document received inventory in the warehouse management system.
  • Store items in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any receiving discrepancies.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for outgoing shipments according to company and customer specifications.
  • Verify order accuracy before shipping, ensuring all items are correctly packed and labeled.
  • Generate and print shipping labels, bills of lading, and necessary documentation.
  • Schedule shipments and coordinate with carriers (UPS, Purolator, ICS, etc.) for timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and report discrepancies.
  • Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations
  • Ensure adequate packaging materials are stocked and used efficiently.
  • Follow all safety protocols for handling materials and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure shipments comply with shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work closely with customer service and sales teams to provide shipping and receiving updates.
  • Handle customer inquiries related to shipment status and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing shipments for tracking and reporting.
