About The Position

This position is for a Shipping Receiving Clerk at Hilltop, a company dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families. The role involves safely transporting customer products using a delivery truck or van, supporting production operations, and performing traditional shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse duties. The goal is to ensure materials, products, and work areas are organized, accurate, and ready to support production needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid NYS driver’s license with a safe driving record per agency policy
If driving box truck with air brakes, required to have a valid New York State CDL Class B Driver’s license with a safe and clean driving record per agency policy.
Ability to be certified in safe forklift operation
Basic mathematical and reading skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to maintain composure under pressure or during emergencies and be able to use sound judgment in decision making
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, push and pull.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds
Ability to safely push or pull a loaded pallet jack
Ability to safely climb in and out of truck
Will be required to use various equipment, including, but not limited to pallet jack, hand truck, customer supplied tooling and equipment etc., in addition to standard office equipment.
Ability to load and unload truck using forklift or electric pallet jack

Assist with training people receiving services to complete shipping/receiving duties

Responsibilities

Safely operate the delivery truck or van to transport customer products to specified locations, including customer receiving areas and other manufacturing facilities as needed.
Coordinate scheduling needs for trucking of products and make appropriate decisions regarding safe and efficient transportation of products using the delivery truck or van.
Deliver customers’ products to specified locations and communicate with the Production Manager or team when concerns arise while onsite at a customer location.
Comply with DOT regulations, including drug testing and maintaining a valid medical card.
Coordinate emergencies while en route as necessary with appropriate contacts.
When trucking is not needed, work in production areas as designated by the Production Manager.
Support production operations by completing assigned factory work, maintaining attention to detail, and communicating effectively with internal teams and external customers.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks and verifying counts, part numbers, lot/batch or P.O. numbers against shipping documents, Bills of Lading, or interplant shipping sheets.
Assure contents and packaging are in good condition before receiving or shipping product.
Compare packing lists against purchase orders or requisitions, copy documents, and forward them to the accounting department and appropriate department as necessary. Notify QC or applicable parties of receipts for completion of incoming inspection reports.
Place all incoming materials safely in the appropriate warehouse location upon receipt and notify appropriate staff of the products received.
Receive material requisitions, pick lists, inventory reports, or verbal instruction for material and deliver items to the appropriate location or prepare them for shipment.
Receive shipments from outside delivery agents, notify the appropriate department of receipt, and forward packing lists to the production office.
Update perpetual inventory records daily, including all receipts, requisitions, and inventory issued from stock.
Perform physical inventories of customer-owned supplies as directed.
Prepare packages for shipment and communicate with necessary parties for labels, routing, and related shipping needs.
Distribute incoming packages to appropriate departments, copy packing lists, and forward documents to the appropriate department.
Monitor area for safety hazards and promote safety in the work environment.
Organize pallets and separate broken pallets for disposal.
Attends agency training and meetings as required
Participates in corporate compliance and quality assurance activities as required
As applicable, meet or exceed the expectations of our customers through the effective application of an ISO Quality System.
Complete paper and computer record keeping as required
Other duties as assigned
