About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and processing all incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely movement of materials within a manufacturing environment. The role involves inspecting incoming goods, verifying documentation, preparing outbound shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards. Additionally, this position supports production and warehouse operations by organizing materials, tracking inventory levels, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain smooth workflow.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret packing lists, shipping documents, and product labels.
  • Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies or shipping issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities.
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional coursework or certification in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain is a plus but not required.
  • Training in forklift or material-handling equipment operation is a plus (may also be provided by employer).
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience operating forklifts or material-handling equipment is beneficial.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, supplies, and products; verify quantities, quality, and documentation against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report issues to purchasing or management.
  • Prepare and package outbound shipments, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and compliance with carrier and company standards.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records using company systems or software.
  • Organize and stage materials for production use, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing areas.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist with cycle counts as required.
  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal departments to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve shipping issues.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including the loading dock, warehouse, and storage locations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
