Requirements

  • High school completion or equivalent is required
  • 2 years in functions related to shipping preferred
  • Basic knowledge of packaging and shipping procedures desired.
  • Must be able to lift between 30 – 50 lbs consistently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
  • Must be able to be on their feet most of the day in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mailroom/shipping equipment and materials.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.
  • Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
  • Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
  • Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
  • Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Responsibilities

  • Places items in appropriate packages for the type of item and wraps package to assure it arrives in proper condition.
  • Prepares materials for shipment.
  • May enter shipment in database system.
  • Selects and packages of customer orders, returns, loaners, etc.
  • Organizes back-orders to provide most efficient shipping methods for customer.
  • Selects, packages, and prepares of all USPS mail shipments and courier orders.
  • Processes customer orders via UPS/FedEX/DHL/Airborne for international shipments.
  • Transfers packaging and return product into inventory.
  • Forklift and related equipment operation.
  • Per management approval: orders supplies including vendor contract, purchase orders, and receivables.
  • Handles automation/communication issues with in-house and outside information technicians for shipping functions.
  • Makes the appropriate amount and type of box (es) or container(s) required for shipping.
  • Insures that shipment requests from Arthrex personnel are packaged and handled accordingly.
  • Assists in warehouse layout and construction of shelving, storage racks, etc.
  • Periodically provides suggestions and ideas which become implemented by management.
  • Assists inventory on information gathering. Knowledge of quarantine, hold, primary, secondary, and overflow locations along with proper labeling and segregation of product.
  • General housekeeping and cleanliness of working area.
  • Complies and familiar with OSHA and ISO9002 standards.
  • Performs other duties not listed here-in as assigned as Warehouse Manager.
