About The Position

CHEMetrics, located in Midland, VA, and a subsidiary of AquaPhoenix Scientific, has an immediate opening for a reliable and detailed-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our operations team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for supporting shipping, receiving, and warehouse functions — including the movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods. This is a full-time, hourly position with full company benefits, reporting to the Shipping and Inventory Manager. This is a fast-paced environment that requires solid multi-tasking abilities, strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, accuracy and efficiency. Flexibility during peak periods and a proactive, customer-focused mindset are key to success.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic math and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks safely using proper ergonomic techniques.
  • Certification (or willingness to obtain) for DOT, IATA and IMDG hazardous goods shipping.
  • Commitment to safety standards such as GMP, OSHA, and ISO9001 compliance.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect goods and accurately enter data into the ERP system.
  • Move materials and finished products between departments/locations.
  • Pull, prepare, and ship customer orders (loose cartons and pallets) ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Generate and manage shipping documentation: BOLs, invoices, packing slips and order tracking.
  • Provide freight estimates to Customer Service using FedEx ToolBox and HelpDesk.
  • Maintain organization of warehouse inventory, ensure materials are stored safely and properly.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Participate in facility upkeep, including snow removal, grounds maintenance and basic equipment repairs.
  • Support facility systems and preventative maintenance activities (HVAC, compressed air, fire alarms, etc.)
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
