About The Position
Colonial Chemical Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialty surfactants, offering products specifically used for personal care products, household and industrial products, metalworking products and industrial lubricants. Colonial Chemical, Inc, is a forerunner within the chemical industry in research, development and production of chemicals that are environmentally safe and derived from all-natural and renewable ingredients. Colonial Chemical is seeking a Shipping Operator for it's warehouse. Must demonstrate ability to safely operate a fork truck and ability to coordinate work production for the warehouse. Must be able to safely and efficiently load and unload full truckload shipments and containers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment to pull correct inventory to ship.
- Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
- High school Diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Pulls material from inventory to prepare for outgoing shipment.
- Palletizes and wraps outgoing shipments.
- Apply/remove product labels as needed.
- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
- Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records.
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Safely operate a fork truck.
- Coordinate work production for the warehouse.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload full truckload shipments and containers.
