About The Position

Keeps finished goods in an orderly manner and manages in a FIFO warehouse operation and aids in loading of trucks by performing the following duties. This role requires the ability to read work orders, load and unload materials, and operate equipment like forklifts and overhead cranes. The position also involves counting, weighing, and recording material movement, attaching identifying tags, and loading trucks for customer transportation.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Certified Forklift Training and Overhead Craning Training.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment provided by the Company and be safety conscious.

Nice To Haves

  • Less than high school education; or at least 10th grade education or equivalent; up to one month related experience for training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
  • Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets and lifts.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
  • Counts, weigh, and records number of units of material moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on containers.
  • Loads truck for transportation to customers.
  • Operates fork lift or overhead crane to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
