About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Shipping Loader for its Monticello, Iowa location. The role checks, shuttles, moves, and loads products for shipment, ensuring items are packaged and secured safely and that loads meet shipping and production requirements. The Shipping Loader may also help direct new shipping or warehouse employees, assist with inventory counts, and take on other duties assigned by the Team Leader.

This is a permanent first-shift position, scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pay is $18–$21 per hour, based on experience. Full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision benefits starting on day one, along with other listed benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a high-production manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to cross-train and be promotable.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

• Check, shuttle, and move items and perform essential Loader functions.
• Load parts onto trailers safely, following manufacturing procedures to prevent shipment damage.
• Package, crate, and load items to ensure safe arrival and efficient trailer capacity.
• Use crating and packaging materials, metal bands, coverings, or other methods to secure and protect parts for shipment; weigh trucks of items as required.
• Assess each lift and determine when to check actual trailer load against the maximum allowable load.
• Check each load to confirm the job is complete.
• Expedite work in process to meet production schedules.
• Unload and check items against freight bills, packing lists, or shipping notices; note damages, shortages, and other irregularities and notify the Team Leader.
• Give on-the-job direction to new shipping or warehouse employees and others assisting in the shipping or warehouse area.
• Load and unload transfer trucks and load multi-drop route trucks.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Perform other projects and duties assigned by the Team Leader.
