About The Position

The Shipping Loader is responsible for loading and unloading of company vehicles in accordance with quality, quantity, and safety standards. This role works with other members of the department to achieve company goals, receives directions from the Shipping Supervisor, Lead, or Cell Lead, and notifies them when more work is needed. The position involves rotating functions within the department as needed and assigned, working as a contributing member of the department team, and performing all functions according to sound safety principles and company policies and procedures. The Shipping Loader must notify their Supervisor/Group Leader of any existing or potential safety issues, review load sheets and pull product for specific routes, and load and unload trucks while ensuring the load is always secured. Additionally, the role involves safely and accurately staging finished goods in the warehouse, completing all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately, and maintaining good housekeeping in the department. The Shipping Loader must constantly monitor product to assure quality standards are being met and notify the Group Leader if product does not meet quality standards. They will also assemble shipping crates and prepare common carrier shipments as directed, ensuring product is packaged to guard against shipping damage. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues, and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent work ethic – ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable using a PC with computer software packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to deal effectively with various personality types and cultures.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews the load sheets and pulls product for the specific route.
  • Loads and unloads trucks making sure to always secure the load.
  • Safety and accurately stages finish goods in warehouse.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately including quality reports, timecards, etc.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the department.
  • Monitors product constantly to assure quality standards are being met, and notifies Group Leader whenever product appears to not meet quality standards.
  • Assembles shipping crates and prepares common carrier shipments as directed, taking care to package product to effectively guard against shipping damage.
  • All other duties as assigned.
