About The Position

Requirements

  • Previous forklift experience in handling material on a forklift.
  • Ability to operate a sit-down forklift, including loading and unloading trucks, and moving material to and from the breakdown area, yard, and warehouse.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial, machine shop environment that can be loud, hot, and dirty.
  • Willingness to wear required safety equipment at all times: safety glasses, work gloves, ear protection, long pants, sleeved shirts, and work boots/shoes.
  • Adherence to CEMCO’s safety practices and policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in loading full, 48-foot flatbed trailers along with smaller straight trucks.
  • Experience in handling steel material that is up to 60 feet long.

Responsibilities

  • Completing breakdowns.
  • Applying necessary pallet tags, spray painting gauge color on pallet edges, and safely operating banding machines to ensure metal strapping and wood blocks to pallets.
  • Order preparation, including verifying material, counting, checking pallet tags and paperwork, and packaging material/orders.
  • Performing daily self-inspections to ensure forklift maintenance.
  • Attending to customer will calls in a timely fashion.
  • Keeping the yard, breakdown area, and equipment clean at all times.
  • Conducting quality control inspections on finished products.
  • Conducting operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Performing other duties as necessary.
