About The Position

The Shipping Loader position is located in the shipping area of a Vinyl Window manufacturing plant. The worker reviews work orders and selects the appropriate pieces for shipment. This role involves reading paperwork, reviewing work orders, and pulling or selecting the correct pieces for shipment. The job requires lifting, pushing, and pulling materials such as windows, glass panes, and loaded carts. Pieces are placed on an L-shaped cart and transported to the loading dock. The loader reviews the work order to ensure all pieces are included before placing them into an outgoing trailer. There may also be involvement in loading trucks for shipment.

Requirements

Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”.
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
Ability to frequently push/pull, bend at the waist and neck, kneel/squat, reach above and below shoulders, use repetitive hand/arm movements, grasp (poser/pinch) and use foot controls to operate foot-brake on rolling carts.
Can work well with others, as part of a 2-3 man team.
Ability to read and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and written instructions.
Capable of using computerized equipment, working with scanners.
Will require standing, walking and working on concrete surfaces for long periods of time.
Ability to move carts in and out of production areas.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
