This is a working lead position and entails supervision and coordination of activities engaged in by employees in the warehouse. Individuals will be required to fulfill the following duties and requirements, alongside employees while fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a shipping/receiving or logistics role.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software.
  • Possess strong leadership and customer service skills.
  • Ability to train others, model Step2 values and work hand in hand with the team.
  • WMS and ERP experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and have a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Must be organized, detail and results oriented.
  • Ability to make decisions and have good judgement.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of shipping and receiving.
  • Must be able to drive PIT.
  • Ability to work seasonal overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
  • ERP (Oracle Preferred) experience.
  • LEAN training/certification helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Model safety behaviors and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and standards. Identify safety risks and mitigate.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of shipping personnel to achieve daily goals and normal assignments.
  • Monitor performance to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations.
  • Lead and perform all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyze traffic schedules to estimate worker hours and create schedules as needed.
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock levels.
  • Request items for transfer and handle outbound transfers as well.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and lower cost.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, other departments, and external partners via email, written, and verbal communications.
  • Directly supervise 5-15 employees in the shipping and receiving department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws.
  • Train employees; assign, and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Comply with safety regulations.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Work to improve productivity through different measures and ideas.
  • Help Reduce/eliminate complaints related to shipping.
  • Make sure only perfect product is leaving the facility.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
