About The Position

The Shipping Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the entire shipping process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. This position is responsible for coordinating shipping schedules, managing logistics partners, and maintaining compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies. The Shipping Lead will lead a team of shipping associates, providing guidance and support to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. They will also analyze shipping data to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement. Ultimately, the Shipping Lead ensures that all shipments meet quality standards and customer expectations, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and business success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Proven experience in supervising or leading a team in a shipping or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier operations, and freight documentation.
• Proficiency with shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
• Experience with international shipping and customs clearance processes.
• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
• Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shipping operations, including scheduling, packing, labeling, and dispatching shipments.
• Lead, train, and supervise the shipping team to maintain high performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics and timely deliveries.
• Monitor shipping metrics and prepare reports to track performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Resolve shipping-related issues promptly, including delays, damages, and documentation errors.
• Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock levels and efficient order fulfillment.
