About The Position
The Shipping Lead is responsible for supervising and assigning department personnel and equipment to meet Shipping objectives. This role involves adhering to and supporting existing policies, including APEX, Production Efficiencies, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 policies and procedures. The Shipping Lead will also support, guide, and assist in the orientation of new operators when Repack or Shipping Team Leaders are absent, and assist Repack personnel as needed, ensuring all parties are at their workstations.
Requirements
- Supervise and assign department personnel and equipment to meet Shipping objectives
- Adhere and support existing policies, including APEX, Production Efficiencies, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 policies and procedures
- Support, guide and assist in the orientation of new operators when either Repack or Shipping Team Leaders are absent
- Assist Repack personnel as needed and ensure all parties are at workstations
- Self-directed within parameters of job
- Direct supervision staff when Team Leaders are not available
Responsibilities
- Schedule shipments in customer portals
- Schedule general shipments using common carriers (UPS, Fedex, DHL, etc)
- Schedule expedite shipments per customer requirements
- Send ASNs in customer portals
- Print appropriate paperwork (BOLs) for shipments
- Load / unload trucks as needed
- Pull inventory and pack per weigh count to customer orders
- Ensure shipments are to customer requirements
- Inspect product to ensure only acceptable product is released from inventory to shipping
- Adjust Plex jobs and ensure parts are packaged / kitted properly per instructions
- Ensure personnel are at their workstations and working for the entire shift
- Remove old labels from plastic containers when needed
- Schedule work and assign manpower and training
- Coordinate with other team leaders and maintenance as needed
- Participate in and encourage department to suggest improvement ideas
