About The Position

A Manufacturing Shipping Lead manages daily outbound logistics, supervises warehouse staff, and ensures orders are packed, labeled, and shipped safely and on time. This hands-on role coordinates between production, sales, and carriers to maintain smooth dock operations.

Requirements

2+ years in shipping, warehousing, or manufacturing logistics.
Previous lead or supervisory experience.
Proven track record of guiding small teams or acting as lead.
Able to use forklift equipment, computerized inventory software, and RF scanners.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

Assign daily tasks, guide workflow, train new hires, and support team safety.
Oversee picking, packing, creating, and labeling of manufactured goods.
Drive forklifts safely and maintain required certifications.
Handle packing lists, and freight paperwork. Schedule freight carriers and trucks.
Oversee the printing, picking, slotting, packing, releasing, and assembly of customer orders resolving any orders that have inventory issues.
Check outgoing items for accuracy against pick lists. Resolve inventory discrepancies in the ERP/WMS system.
Use the ERP or warehouse computer system to record shipments and fix inventory mistakes.
Talk with plant and sales teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing output.
Maintain a clean workspace using 5S standards and follow OSHA and hazardous material guidelines where applicable.
Check emails from customer service and reply as needed.
Communicate with customer service/transportation any anomalies regarding outbound shipments and appointment delays.
