About The Position

Semo Milling, LLC has an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Lead! This position is responsible for the execution of the plant predetermined load-out schedule, plant sanitation, material handling and general support of operations. The role requires adherence to packaging, load-out and mill production schedules, participation in daily inventory, and utilization of good manufacturing processes. The Shipping Lead will monitor key indicators for quality, productivity, and utilization, and is responsible for the quality of work within their area, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, and actively engaging in continuous improvement programs such as SOPs.

Requirements

  • MUST have a valid driver's license
  • Either have or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL, at our expense.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Shipping/bulk loading experience preferred
  • Team oriented
  • Must possess or be willing and able to obtain a valid class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and an acceptable driving record
  • Physical and mental alertness, attentiveness and stamina for the length of an entire 8-12 hour work shift each day.
  • Occasional to frequent lifting of 50-100 pounds
  • Frequent changing from a seated to standing position
  • Occasional to frequent stair climbing

Nice To Haves

  • This is not a supervisor position but does require leadership skills to help ensure supervisors instructions are being followed.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the shipping process as directed by the Operations Supervisor
  • Ensuring adherence to packaging, load-out and mill production schedules.
  • Partake in inventory process on daily basis.
  • Facility Sanitation.
  • Utilizing good manufacturing processes.
  • Prime product and hominy load-out.
  • Monitor key indicator for quality, productivity, and utilization.
  • Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable.
  • Responsible for quality of work within area.
  • Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion inspection ready at all times.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement programs such as SOP’s.
  • Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
  • Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
  • Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
  • Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
  • Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance.
  • Follow established Human Resources procedures.
  • Ensure proper training and adherence to area SOP’s.
  • Assist with evaluating the performance of subordinates.
  • Create a team working environment.
  • Develop key indicators to measure quality and productivity.
  • Open Communications to be a team player and do other tasks as necessary.
