About The Position

As our Shipping Lead/ Dispatch you will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and on time delivery of customer orders. This includes picking, packing, and coordinating with our delivery drivers and local freight companies. An attention to detail will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, along with the ability to multi task. To experience success in the position, you will: Provide a professional atmosphere for our customers Have an attention for detail while picking orders and completing shipping documents Be able to plan and organize delivery schedules based on geography/ shifting customer demands Uphold our core values and ethics with every interaction Work safely and effectively as a teammate Be comfortable multitasking and giving direction to other teammates to ensure orders are processed accurately and promptly Know how to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment Be courteous, friendly and build relationships with customers and teammates

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience, with preference for shipping/ dispatch
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
  • Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Ability to multitask
  • Experience leading a team/ giving direction
  • Intermediate math skills

Nice To Haves

  • College and/or University degree an asset
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of products sold at the Profit Centre
  • Experience using M3, Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Health and Safety rules and legislation while performing job functions
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Picking material for customer orders, counting and comparing items to the shipping documentation
  • Assemble material and pack appropriately for shipment to customer
  • Complete documentation for any shipments being delivered via third party carrier or requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation
  • Giving direction to material handlers and delivery drivers to ensure on time delivery
  • Inform the Supervisor of any inventory discrepancies and damaged/defective material that would impact customer service levels
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety by removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and other debris
  • Inform Warehouse Supervisor and/or Profit Centre Manager of any safety issues within the warehouse
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
