About The Position

The Shipping Jockey Driver is responsible for moving and spotting trailers within the plant and storage lot. This role requires safe operation of a yard truck in various conditions, including numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily. The position also involves maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and performing daily checklist inspections on the tractor. This is a third-shift position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid driver license
• Experience with two way radios
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Knowledge of tractor trailers
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, bending, sitting and lifting 40lbs or more.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with driving tractor trailers a plus

Responsibilities

• Move and spot trailers from the cooling shed and other areas to the receiving line or in shipping areas.
• Move offal trailers when needed.
• Keep the area clean and free of debris.
• Perform daily checklist on the tractor.
• Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily involving loaded and empty containers.
• Drive and operate vehicle under 15 mph in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and services as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
