About The Position

The Shipping & Inventory Clerk is responsible for accurate receipt, storage, handling, packaging, and shipment of materials and finished products. This position ensures inventory accuracy, supports production through timely material movement, and prepares domestic and international shipments in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining safe and efficient warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of shipping, warehouse, logistics, inventory control, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience using an ERP or inventory management system (Syspro experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures and documentation.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process inventory transactions and shipping documentation.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a manufacturing team.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified; experience in an ISO, aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and regularly lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds while working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment and following all required safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips, and inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Accurately process inventory transactions within the ERP system and maintain inventory accuracy using FIFO and established inventory control practices.
  • Support cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and timely movement of materials between warehouse and production.
  • Pick, package, stage, and prepare domestic and international customer orders for shipment while ensuring accuracy and product protection.
  • Prepare shipping documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and other required shipping/export documents.
  • Coordinate shipments using UPS, FedEx, DHL, freight carriers, and customer-designated logistics providers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment following 5S principles.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support material handling activities that ensure production receives materials on time and finished goods are properly stored or shipped.
  • Follow company quality procedures and applicable ISO, ITAR, and export compliance requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and shipping performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
