About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Shipping General Laborer to join our team on the 1st shift. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle physical demands, and contribute to a safe and organized warehouse operation. This position involves a variety of tasks including order preparation, loading/unloading, labeling, sorting, and inventory management. You will also be responsible for operating material handling equipment and maintaining a clean work area. Team collaboration is key to meeting our shipping goals and deadlines.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (often 50+ pounds).
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete simple math calculations related to shipping.
• Ensure accuracy in packing, labeling, and inspecting shipments.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in shipping/receiving or general warehouse work preferred but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack products for outgoing shipments according to order specifications, ensuring items are accurately selected and packed.
• Safely load and unload trucks using manual labor or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Label boxes and items appropriately, sort packages by destination or type, and prepare shipping labels for proper delivery.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies; report any issues to supervisors.
• Assist with inventory counts and organization of products in the warehouse.
• Operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts, hand trucks, etc.) to move items efficiently and safely.
• Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and organized; follow safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free workspace.
• Complete paperwork and records related to shipments, including tracking orders and ensuring proper documentation is filed.
• Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to meet shipping goals and deadlines.
