About The Position

This role involves various tasks in a shipping and receiving environment, focusing on order preparation, loading/unloading, labeling, sorting, and inventory management. The position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient handling of shipments. The work environment includes a freezer/refrigerator setting, and the company provides necessary PPE.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods; lift heavy objects (often 50+ pounds).
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete simple math calculations related to shipping.
• Ensure accuracy in packing, labeling, and inspecting shipments.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in shipping/receiving or general warehouse work preferred but not always required.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack products for outgoing shipments according to order specifications, ensuring items are accurately selected and packed.
• Safely load and unload trucks using manual labor or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Label boxes and items appropriately, sort packages by destination or type, and prepare shipping labels for proper delivery.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies; report any issues to supervisors.
• Assist with inventory counts and organization of products in the warehouse.
• Operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts, hand trucks, etc.) to move items efficiently and safely.
• Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and organized; follow safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free workspace.
• Complete paperwork and records related to shipments, including tracking orders and ensuring proper documentation is filed.
• Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to meet shipping goals and deadlines.
