Shipping Freight Truck Spotter – No CDL
About The Position
This position operates a yard dog and tractor-trailer to stage trailers at the loading dock, shuttle trailers to the truck garage for repairs, shuttle loaded trailers back to the trailer lot, and maintain trailers for other departments. The role also involves operating a lift truck to replenish pick lanes and load/unload trailers, supporting the shipping operation. Responsibilities include communicating effectively with primary customers, accurately documenting inventory of trailers, cardboard, and case quantities, and manually moving cardboard and cases to designated areas. All other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
Requirements
- Experience docking trailers
- Overall good work record (which includes attendance, safety, job performance, flexibility, and team behaviors)
- Ability to work with computers (data entry)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting
- Ability to work independently and in a cohesive team environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Accuracy and timeliness in handling paperwork
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Y.T.O. (Yard Tractor Operator) and L.T.O. Lift Truck Operator license
- DMV Record must be obtained by the Safety Department
- Lift Truck vision screen must be completed by Employee Health Services and must meet Lift Truck standards
Nice To Haves
- Current McKee Foods L.T.O. license
- Previous lift truck and/or shipping experience
- Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Knowledge and experience working with OPM11i and (WMS) Warehouse Management System
