About The Position

The Raw Material Handler will operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments supporting production. This role involves ensuring safety, tracking materials, and transporting products within the facility, including to and from production areas, scales, loading docks, and storage. The position also includes managing pallets and supplies, and handling waste disposal for combo units.

Requirements

• Basic math, language, and reading skills.
• Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
• Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
• Must be able to move and lift up to 50-pound wooden skid or pallet.
• Able to work in a cold refrigerated environment for up to 10 hours. Moving in and out of freezer.

Responsibilities

• Operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments supporting production.
• Conducts a Forklift safety inspection prior to use according to guidelines.
• Pulls product from staging areas and moves them to production.
• Tracks raw materials through proper use of scanning, inventory control and reporting issues.
• Transports products to and from various locations including combo dumps, scales, loading docks, and storage areas.
• Removes empty combos from the dump and breaks down the combo for recycling and takes liner to trash area.
• Reports any problems with product or equipment to supervisor.
• Manages pallets and other supplies in specified areas.
• Performs other related duties as requested.
