About The Position

The Shipping Forklift Operator loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other powered industrial equipment. The role uses handheld scanners for picking, receiving, put-away, and loading as required. It also maintains equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly condition, performs daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance, and operates equipment safely and efficiently according to prescribed work methods. The position is located in Baytown, Texas.

Requirements

At least 2 years of forklift and warehouse experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow instructions for daily tasks and safety policies.
Considerate and respectful conduct toward coworkers.
Good math, language, and reading skills.
Basic computer skills may be required.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to frequently lift up to 55 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods.
Ability to climb on and off equipment repeatedly.
Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on the season.

Responsibilities

Load and unload products correctly using appropriate handling and safety techniques.
Segregate, label, check, and stage inbound or outbound products.
Sign, date, and fully complete required paperwork for each load.
Enter required data in handheld devices.
Maintain good housekeeping and organization and follow safety policies and work instructions.
Assist with physical or cycle counts when asked.
Complete assignments accurately, promptly, and safely.
Identify damage and report overages, shortages, or quality deficiencies.
Perform additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment daily.
