About The Position

This role is for a 1st Shift Shipping Forklift Driver, Class 2, with a starting pay of $18.69/hr, potentially up to $21.14/hr. The primary function is to be part of the shipping operations team. Responsibilities include inspecting parts for defects, making simple repairs, processing transactions, and preparing items for shipment. The role requires operating Powered Industrial Vehicles and pallet jacks safely, using a stretch wrapper, and accurately scanning and packing components. Loading trucks to protect products during transit is also a key duty. The position emphasizes safety consciousness, good housekeeping, meeting quality standards and production goals, and performing other departmental tasks as needed.

Requirements

Two to three years of work experience
Knowledge of safe work practices
Must be able to distinguish colors and species
Ability to read a tape measure and caliper
Math and computer skills
Ability to read/write/communicate in English
Ability to work in a team environment
Self-starter who works effectively without close supervisor

Nice To Haves

One year of production experience or similar in carpentry or fast paced, detail-oriented environment is preferred
High School diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

Inspect parts for defects (size, color, wood, scrap)
Make simple repairs as needed
Process transactions
Slot items in cart for shipment
Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles and pallet jacks safely and effectively
Operate stretch wrapper
Locate, scan, obtain and pack, bundle or palletize components in a quality conscious manner to protect from shipping damage
Load trucks in a manner to protect the product during transit
Be extremely safety conscious and have good housekeeping habits
Meet all quality standards and production goals
Perform any other tasks required for the success of the department
