About The Position

This is a distribution center position that requires the execution of daily warehousing duties within the Shipping functional area, with an emphasis on coordinating all outbound shipments and routing. This position will coordinate and track shipments, ensure all orders are packaged, labeled, and shipped in a safe and efficient manner. Activities include but are not limited to scheduling, order-fulfillment, compliance, communication, inventory control, quality, and recordkeeping. Position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to support company growth objectives and must work cross-functionally to ensure effective and efficient shipment of products to customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • Minimum 3 years in a shipping or distribution center operation.
  • Familiarity with the shipping procedures and shipment processing software.
  • Proven track record of results
  • Detailed data entry and customer service.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Operate RF Scanner to track quantities for shipping and inventory purposes.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills, detail oriented, and commitment to quality.
  • Highly motivated, well organized.
  • Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Post high school education preferred.
  • Experience in blueprint reading is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage all outbound shipments.
  • Book shipments with Broker/Forwarder and Customer.
  • Follow formalized processing procedures for all international shipments.
  • Work with account managers to determine the most efficient methods of shipping and routes for courier services.
  • Prepare, process, and file any related documents including those required by customs for international shipments.
  • Provide inbound routing assistance.
  • Manage pick ticket portals.
  • Ensure all pick tickets are printed and picked daily.
  • Meet daily shipment responsibilities, including VMI, Discreet, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL.
  • Provide guidance and training to other team members regarding domestic shipping procedures.
  • International training for compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Support Shipping Team Leader to work with Account Managers in the investigation of billing issues and assist in developing solutions for problems to ensure invoices are provided to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Perform general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, and supplies.
  • Perform periodic bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting of 50+ pounds and climbing.
  • Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures for the facility.
  • Safe operation of all material handling and distribution center equipment including forklifts, Stockchasers, and order pickers.
  • Troubleshoot shipping and/or technical issues.
  • Support and promote Field’s Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Provide support to other Distribution Center positions as needed.
