About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator actively supports and complies with Pelican’s objectives, guidelines, and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement. This role requires effective and cooperative interaction with employees at all levels, the ability to complete assignments within required timelines, and flexibility regarding working hours and overtime. The coordinator must operate in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and contribute to a team driven by innovation and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of shipping or logistics experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of shipping documentation, inventory processes, and picking/packing procedures
  • Basic math skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to operate a stand-up forklift or willingness to become certified

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Experience with domestic and international shipping is a plus
  • Understanding of customs requirements, Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within required timelines
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • This role requires repetitive hand and wrist activity
