About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of processing shipments for customers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company material handling and shipping requirements. The Shipping Coordinator will utilize an ERP system to manage orders, consolidate shipments, generate necessary documentation, and verify inventory. This position involves direct interaction with warehouse operations, including pulling, staging, and loading inventory, as well as performing outbound inspections. Communication with other departments, tracking shipments, and handling discrepancies are key aspects of the role. The position also includes administrative duties, processing receipts, and participating in physical inventory counts. Identifying and reporting safety concerns is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift Certified
  • 3+ years of warehouse, inventory management, logistics, and compliance experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook and their use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent experience (company can certify on-site).

  • Regularly and repetitively lift 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Able to stand, climb, bend, and walk for an extended amount of time and up to 8 hours.
  • Able to work in an office and warehouse environment.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with federal, state, and company material handling and shipping requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to guidelines and processes set forth by management in coordinating all aspects of processing shipments for customers.
  • Use ERP system to determine produced orders to ship based on readiness and acknowledged ship date.
  • Conduct load/order consolidation optimizing volume while minimizing spend.
  • Generate pick slip, packing slip, bill of lading, VGM, and commercial invoices as required for domestic or export orders.
  • Verify product inventory during and after shipment for film and resale orders.
  • Check for accuracy and make changes as authorized by Management.
  • Safely pull, stage, and load inventory to satisfy sales order requirements, including bracing of product inside transit equipment and performing outbound inspections.
  • Handle questions, problems, and maintain open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle, including tracking of shipments.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments the readiness of late or rush orders.
  • Verify received materials and products against purchase orders to ensure quality and conformity.
  • Communicate discrepancies to responsible parties.
  • Perform administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping for the Marine Division, including processing ERP receipts and bar code labels.
  • Coordinate and conduct year-end Marine physical inventory count and reconciliations.
  • Identify and report unsafe practices and/or insufficiently packaged items to management for improvements.
  • Physically secure, brace, repalletize, cut foam, board, strap, and/or shrink-wrap product.
  • Effectively process daily Marine Division releases, including but not limited to boats, parts, catalogs, and dealer books.
  • Book pickups via third-party logistics user interface.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and research discrepancies in inventory.
  • Obtain shipping quotes for Sales Department.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Marine Warehouse.
  • Process all daily Federal Express shipments.
