About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for monitoring outbound delivery reports, processing and shipping orders according to schedule, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of shipments. This role involves communicating with customers and carriers, preparing shipping documents, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records. The position also requires adherence to shipping regulations and company policies, including handling Hazmat Dangerous Goods shipments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with ERP system (preferably SAP)
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping, processing, or a related warehouse environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use RF units, electronic scanning
  • Ability to read and comprehend written directions
  • Ability to use basic math skills
  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks/processes
  • Ability to work with other departments; team player
  • Strong visual inspection abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong decision making, problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Computer Skills: MS Word, Excel, SAP, Internet
  • Must have acceptable attendance record
  • Ability to stand for 10 hr. shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Outbound Delivery report daily to ensure orders are processed and shipped on schedule.
  • Complete shipping information to customers via EDI, ASN, Fax, Email, or Mail.
  • Schedule and monitor customer specified freight carriers for order pickup.
  • Monitor and schedule Fed Ex orders, requiring 24-hour advance notification.
  • Process requests for freight quotes on 'pre-paid and add' orders.
  • Communicate with carriers for updated ETAs and follow-up.
  • Log, research, and resolve freight and handling chargebacks.
  • Review routing guides regularly and understand International account requirements.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents for outbound materials.
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipping.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities.
  • Communicate with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Report delivery shortages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with packaging and labeling of materials for shipment.
  • Perform regular audits of shipping procedures and processes.
  • Handle Hazmat Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with regulations.
