About The Position

The primary function of this role is to ship product and maintain all necessary documentation during the shipping process. The Shipping Coordinator must be knowledgeable of all Safety, GMP’s, RP’s, and other Standard Operating Procedures relevant to shipping functions. This role assists the Logistics Routine Facilitator in directing the crew to ensure optimal utilization of equipment and personnel, and aids the Production Control group in ensuring customer requirements are met.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Legally eligible to immediately work in the country of hire without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Ship product and maintain documentation.
Ensure knowledge of all Safety, GMP’s, RP’s and other Standard Operating Procedures affecting Shipping functions.
Assist the Logistics Routine Facilitator in directing the crew for optimum utilization of equipment and personnel.
Assist the Production Control group in ensuring customer requirements are met.
Advise Material Handlers of product location for movement and loading.
Direct truck drivers concerning loading procedures and Gerdau safety requirements.
Ensure carriers comply with Gerdau Safety Requirements while on site.
Ensure accuracy of all final shipping documents and shipments leaving Gerdau.
Ensure shipment of quality-packaged product prepared to customer specifications per Dock Audit instructions.
Ensure accuracy of all incoming Returned Steel and material to be processed from Gerdau Monroe and Gerdau Fort Smith mills.
Send BOL’s to Accounting for invoicing and Production Control for review and filing.
Prepare all necessary shipping documents and check paperwork and product for accuracy.
Physically inspect product shipments to ensure proper packaging and loading.
Visually inspect each load for bent bars and other obvious quality issues.
Audit Material Handlers' paperwork for location changes as product is moved.
Inspect and confirm incoming processing material and documentation.
Update daily Issues Log.
Coordinate with other Logistics Coordinators at shift change to ensure accuracy and continuity of shipping activities.
Maintain adequate inventory of tools, forms, materials, and equipment for the shipping operation.
Perform cycle count audits as directed by the Logistics Routine Facilitator.
Perform other shipping-related duties as needed or directed by the Logistics Routine Facilitator.
