  • Must be flexible: Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Need to have basic math skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of a printing press.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, distributing, and maintaining all inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Coordinating on-time delivery to all customers by looking ahead with customer service and production by arranging carriers for pick up.
  • Exceeding customer expectations and aligning with GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Working within and adhering to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.
  • Ensuring compliance with all facility product safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Promoting the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area.
  • Coordinating outgoing customer shipment requirements with customer service personnel.
  • Setting up appropriate truck lines to carry shipments and using the Allen Lund freight plan.
  • Communicating pertinent information to carriers.
  • Ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of product, while minimizing detention through up-to-date and accurate load planning.
  • Maintaining accurate freight rate information using the Allen Lund freight plan.
  • Completing manifest and bill of lading information to support shipment.
  • Signing bill of lading and obtaining driver's signature on bill of lading.
  • Understanding and using T-Box pick ticket, etc.
  • Coordinating with the finishing supervisor and scheduler for items in process that are needed for shipment.
  • Reviewing all incoming board and corrugated shipment paperwork.
  • Completing internal receiving function, and supplying paperwork to the front office.
  • Spotting trailers.
  • Preparing the warehouse for physical inventory.
  • Participating in periodic carrier service reviews.
  • Measuring and collecting data and preparing performance reports.
  • Conducting cycle counts, and auditing shipping documents to ensure proper invoicing.
  • Ensuring all outgoing loads are clean.
  • Blowing dust off loads.
  • Preparing and inspecting all loads to customer specifications for outbound freight, including banding and stretch wrapping.
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment in the warehouse.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Following all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to the production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Reporting to a person of authority any potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participating in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Following all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Reporting any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
