About The Position

Hi-Vac Corporation in Marietta, Ohio is seeking a Shipping Clerk to work within one of our warehouses. If you have experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment, we want to meet you! Successful candidates will exhibit pride in their work and strive for excellence! The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, shipping, verifying, and keeping records on outgoing shipments.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Warehouse shipping or similar experience
Must be able to operate a forklift.
Experience with computers and data entry
Ability to use and read a tape measure.
On the job training will be provided, however, a basic experience within a relevant environment is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Global Shop Solutions
Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping standards and requirements

Responsibilities

Selects parts to ship, compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items to verify information against invoices, orders or other records.
Determines method of shipment.
Creates shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Coordinates exporting and required documentation.
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
Inserts items into containers and load containers on trucks.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Coordinates with Sales and Accounting concerning sales orders.
Loads and unloads materials, parts or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors or trucks.
Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Assists other employees as requested.
Possesses basic computer skills, e.g., able to enter numbers, codes, dimensions, address track shipments, run reports.
