About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping finished products to customers while ensuring accuracy, quality, safety, and compliance with customer specifications. This role supports daily warehouse and shipping operations by operating forklifts and shipping equipment, processing shipping documentation, staging materials, and loading outbound freight. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with shipping or inventory systems.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping documents and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and warehouse equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a physically active warehouse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, label, and ship finished products according to customer and company specifications.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move, stage, load, and unload materials and outbound shipments.
  • Process shipping transactions and maintain accurate shipping records using warehouse or ERP systems.
  • Create and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing lists, certifications, and freight paperwork.
  • Handle small package shipments through carriers such as UPS and FedEx, including international shipping documentation when required.
  • Verify shipment accuracy by counting materials, inspecting products for damage, and confirming proper labeling.
  • Accurately record freight weights and shipment quantities using scale equipment.
  • Operate warehouse tools and equipment including banders, pneumatic tools, chop saws, dock locks, and printers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping, 5S, and safety procedures.
  • Identify equipment maintenance needs and communicate issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Work closely with warehouse and production teams to support efficient shipping operations and meet customer delivery expectations.
