This role supports the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base. The Shipping Clerk ensures that shipping counts match picking documents and assists with resolving any discrepancies. They also ensure proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping and examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications. The position involves maintaining an inventory of shipping materials and supplies, ensuring the accuracy of all receiving documents, and gathering and matching forms (PO, packing slip, computer printout) relative to receiving activities. The clerk also assures that receiving counts match purchase orders and packing slip documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies. This role may direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments, and involves loading and unloading trucks, weighing ingredients, sampling ingredients and taking them to the lab for testing, and assisting with stocking shelves. The Shipping Clerk loads trucks safely and efficiently, maintains segregation of ingredients, assists with inventory count and control, and monitors the quality of inbound ingredients. Upholding a safe work environment, maintaining good condition of grains and ingredients (FIFO), and reporting needed repairs or safety hazards are also key responsibilities. The role requires providing a high level of service to Alphia/Veracity customers and being available to help in all other companies when asked by the department manager. Regular, predictable attendance is required and is an essential function of the position. Other tasks may be assigned.
