About The Position

This role involves overseeing outgoing shipping activities to ensure accurate and complete conditions of shipments. The Shipping Clerk/Truck Loader operates a forklift to transport material and follows defined shipping procedures. They are responsible for determining priorities and shipping methods to meet schedules, managing freight costs, and arranging transportation to optimize service and cost. The position requires ensuring all transactions are recorded in Epicor and utilizing UPS / Fed-ex shipping software. Key duties include verifying that the job ticket matches the product, ensuring items are properly packed and labeled, and checking the accuracy of orders by matching quantities and types. The clerk must report any discrepancies, understand customer expectations, and verify the order's Ship To information. Organizing packaging while observing safety standards and ensuring the warehouse is cleaned and maintained are also part of the role. The individual will take part in year-end and general inventory procedures and be involved in investigating and solving customer problems and issues. Safety is paramount, requiring the wearing of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses in production areas and appropriate apparel (no hoodies, open-toe shoes, or headphones/earbuds). When driving a forklift, proper safety rules must be followed. The role demands proper lifting techniques and the ability to lift 60 pounds. Adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues is required, as is the proper handling and labeling of chemicals. A buddy system is in place, requiring at least one person to know your location in case of emergencies. General requirements include 3+ years of related experience, proficiency in process improvement and conflict resolution, a strong commitment to accountability, and personality traits such as being results-oriented, demonstrating a sense of urgency, possessing good communication skills, and the ability to work as a team. Reliability and punctuality are essential, with the expectation to work overtime when needed. The work environment may include hot and cold climates and various noises.

Requirements

Must Use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues.
When using chemicals, must replace them in the original container and be labeled to identify the contents inside.
Must make sure there is at least one person who knows where you are always in case of fire or natural disaster as part of the buddy system.
