About The Position

SUMMARY: Function: Facilitates shipments of incoming and outgoing products and materials, including hazardous waste. Scope: Responsible for verifying outbound/inbound shipments of finished goods products, raw materials, and supplies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. The amount of time performing each function may vary day-to-day. All duties shall be performed in an efficient and professional manner in accordance with the company policies and under the direct supervision of a designated supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • 2 years of previous Logistics and Warehouse experience.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Knowledge of common warehouse practices.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics.
  • Ability to follow instructions in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to enter data into a computer quickly and accurately.
  • Have a stable, verifiable work history with excellent attendance record.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to become certified in all Shipping Clerk activities conducted by the division and cross-trained as seen fit by the Logistics Manager.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in IATA, DOT, DEA, EPA and IMDG hazardous goods shipping.
  • Ability to wear a respirator mask to perform required tasks.
  • Must be able to work overtime as directed by supervisory staff
  • Must be able to work various shifts as directed by supervisory staff
  • Must possess a reliable means of transportation to and from work.
  • Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and a pre-employment drug screening, including THC, in accordance with federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and process product orders, prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading and invoices, and verify shipment details.
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining a delivery schedule and communicating to all relevant departments.
  • Assist with unloading, loading, sorting, stocking, packaging, labeling, and dispatching goods, using pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Follow all relevant guidelines and regulations for the Import and Export of all goods and materials related to certifications in DOT, IATA, IMDG, DEA, and EPA.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external teams regarding shipping status, discrepancies, and delivery schedules, escalating issues related to international shipping to proper personnel.
  • Stay up to date on all relevant SOPs including revisions.
  • Adherence to State and Federal regulations and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or when exposed to hazardous situations.
  • Verification of all freight PODs (Proof of Delivery) as needed.
  • Assist team with maintenance of material handling equipment.
  • Adherence to TOK America’s corporate, manufacturing and logistics methods and SOPs, while maintaining compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
  • Perform 6S related duties such as cleaning and general housekeeping.
  • Adherence to all PPE requirements onsite.
  • Actively demonstrate high levels of employee engagement, coachability (e.g., receiving and incorporating business-related feedback and instruction with a positive and growth-oriented mindset) to achieve desired outcomes, and accountability for personal performance and its impact on others' ability to do their job well.
  • Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
  • Attending annual and/or quarterly refresher courses related to hazardous waste management and handling, DOT, IATA, IMDG, general safety, quality management, environmental management, and forklift safety.
