The Shipping Associate fills orders, counts, loads, and unloads products on incoming trailers according to the shipping schedule. The role requires demonstrating competency in on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, or quality. The associate records products received from the plant or other plants, moves products to the appropriate distribution area to meet shipping schedules, maintains a clean work area, and follows company policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or management, including following work schedules, attendance policies, and operating rules. This is a highly physical role. It requires using a hand truck to move stacked products weighing up to 400 pounds for distances of up to 300 feet throughout the day, including moving products into and out of transport trucks and up and down 30-degree slopes. It also requires stooping, bending, and lifting 20-pound product containers from floor level to a height of 7.5 feet.
