About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our team at a high-volume plastic processing facility in Painesville, Ohio. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading materials from semi-trucks, accurately handling shipping and receiving documentation, and maintaining an organized and productive warehouse environment. Because many of our loads are double-stacked, strong forklift operating skills and previous experience handling large-volume shipments are essential.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of forklift operating experience required.
- Ability to safely handle double-stacked loads.
- Experience with Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping/receiving documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify shipments and paperwork.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of a shipping and receiving position, including lifting, standing, walking, and operating material-handling equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous shipping and receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience loading and unloading semi-trucks strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload raw materials, finished products, and other materials from semi-trucks.
- Operate a forklift to move, stage, and organize materials throughout the facility.
- Safely handle double-stacked loads and ensure materials are properly positioned and secured.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Review, complete, and maintain shipping and receiving paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Inspect materials and shipments for visible damage or discrepancies and report issues appropriately.
- Stage materials for production, shipment, or storage.
- Maintain an organized and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating requirements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, production personnel, supervisors, and other team members.
- Perform other shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties as needed.
