About The Position

Millat Industries, a family-owned manufacturing company celebrating 60 years of success, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Technician at our Kettering location. This role is for a detail-driven individual who wants to make a real difference at a stable, innovative, and rapidly growing precision machining company.

Requirements

Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and clean driving record
Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
Ability to exert between 10 and 50 pounds on occasional basis
Exhibits characteristics of good role-model
Reliable with excellent attendance record
Requires advanced training through in-house and/or external training methods

Responsibilities

Pick up and/or Delivery of product to customers or suppliers in Company van
Coordinates with purchasing to ensure delivery of material and updates work in progress report to reflect current status
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Affixes shipping labels identifying shipping information on cartons. Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages.
Routes items to departments for incoming material.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet customer or regulatory specifications.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates fork-lift truck or uses pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving to storage or departments.
