This role is responsible for performing a variety of manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, preparing, injecting peeling casing, weights, and moving unfinished and finished raw/cooked materials. The job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports. The role involves working on a production line, watching for equipment malfunctions or product defects, loading raw materials into equipment, unloading work in progress or finished product, and moving materials to and from the equipment. Responsibilities include identifying reject product rips or blowouts, dipping product into a sanitizing bath, and notifying lead or supervisory staff of unusual operations. The position also entails performing general housekeeping duties in the production area, maintaining a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy, and complying with organizational policies including safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and employment and work rules. The individual must be able to learn and understand both personal safety and food safety actions, perform pre-operation tasks such as machine set up and tear down, and perform the function to scrap inedible items. Inspecting product to customer specifications is also a key duty. This role has the responsibility to understand and implement appropriate safety procedures through education, training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
