About The Position
Steel Tool & Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Shipping and Receiving Inventory Clerk to join our team full-time. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and exceeding customer expectations through leadership and problem-solving. The position involves inspecting deliveries, ensuring correct material storage, collaborating with purchasing, leading team meetings, training new employees, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The schedule for this role is from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- 5+ years of related experience
- Strong computer and analytical skills
- Familiarity with Lean tools (A3, Countermeasure, Kaizen)
Responsibilities
- Inspect deliveries
- Ensure materials are stored correctly
- Collaborate with purchasing to confirm incoming shipments
- Lead team meetings
- Train new employees
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as scrap reduction and lean implementation
- Track production levels
- Verify dispatch priorities
- Liaise between contracts, manufacturing, and shipping
