About The Position

Responsible for essential job functions related to shipping/receiving with limited supervision. This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of the business and a heavy industrial market. The primary duties consist of maintaining the shipping and receiving area, assisting with loading and unloading trucks, scheduling truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx. The role involves interacting with customers to clarify discrepancies and schedules, inspecting and recording incoming and outgoing orders, and bringing any irregularities to the supervisor's attention immediately. The position promotes safety and good housekeeping, performs other assigned tasks, and is responsible for the care and treatment of customer inventory in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage. Employees must be able to report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Requirements

  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
  • Assists with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
  • Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
  • Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
  • Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
  • Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Responsible for the care and treatment of customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
